GrubLot is a directory of food trucks. Most of what it stores is about trucks, not about the people looking for them.
If you are just looking for lunch
You do not need an account, and we do not create one for you. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers, and there is no third-party script following you between sites.
Your location stays in your browser. The map asks your device where you are so it can sort trucks by distance. That answer is used to make the request and is not stored against you.
When a search finds no trucks nearby, we record that somebody looked in that area and found nothing — a coordinate rounded to about seven miles, and a count of how many trucks were resting nearby. No identifier, no session, nothing that ties it back to you. It exists so we know which towns to approach trucks in.
If you ask to be told when trucks arrive in your area, we keep the email address you typed and the rough area you asked about, and we use it for that one message.
If you run a truck
We store what your listing needs: your truck's name, description, cuisine, phone, website, menu, opening hours, photos and the account email you sign in with.
When you go live we store where you parked and until when. That is the product — it is shown publicly, on purpose. It expires by itself.
We keep a count of how many people viewed your page and tapped for directions, and a log of location changes made from your account or your crew pass, so you can see what happened and when.
Payments
Subscriptions are handled by Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe's own pages and never reach our servers — we could not show you your card number if we wanted to.
We store two Stripe identifiers against your truck and whether your subscription is active. Stripe holds the rest, under its own privacy policy.
Who else sees it
Your public listing is public — that is the point. Everything else is seen only by you and by GrubLot staff.
We do not sell data and we do not share it for advertising. Our hosting is Amazon Web Services, our database is Supabase, and our map tiles come from OpenFreeMap. Map tiles are fetched by your browser, so OpenFreeMap sees the requests your map makes — we send it nothing about you.
How long we keep it
Listing data stays while your truck is listed and while it is archived, so a truck that comes back finds its menu and hours intact. Ask us to delete it and we will.
Email addresses for launch notifications are deleted once we have launched in that area and sent the message.
Asking us anything
To see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, email hello@grublot.food. We will not ask you why.
